Wonderful rural stay in the mountains

Pros: The location in the mountains was beautiful - quite remote but well worth the drive. It would be perfect for a short walking holiday in the mountains. We were made most welcome even though we arrived much later than expected. The owners were lovely people - very hospitable, helpful and very friendly. The accommodation was lovely, full of character and very comfortable indeed. We only stayed one night as we were driving back to UK, but would have like to have stayed longer. The breakfast was very good - all local country produce & homemade, which was most enjoyable. We even ordered a packed lunch for our travels the next day which was also delicious.

Cons: Nothing! The only comment I would make, is that it is probably better to arrive in the daylight as the drive from Ax-les-Thermes is a bit tricky as it is located in the mountains and there are quite a few hairpin bends en route. It is very rural so at night, quite difficult to find. It took a bit longer than we thought (about 30 mins), probably as we didn't know the route. However, it hasn't put us off returning and look forward to doing so - next time with our walking boots!

A great option for GR107

Pros: Montaillou is a great option for people hiking GR107 and the hosts have made this a wonderful place to stay. A lot of thought had gone into making this a comfortable and welcoming experience, and the food was fantastic!

Peaceful, relaxing, rural location, welcoming hosts

Pros: Rural peaceful hilltop village location. Friendly welcome. Space for bike storage.

Cons: All wonderful.

Pros: The bedroom and bathroom are extraordinary pretty, with a wonderful view at the landscape. The dinner was very good as well. The hosts have created a very nice atmosphere.

Cons: The Toilet is not directly next to the Room. But it is Announced in advance

Pros: The B&B was in a beautiful small village close to the Pyrenees. The location was great, it had a great view and was in an excellent position for hiking/trekking activities. The place was very comfortable. Both the dinner and the breakfast (the first paid as side) were good, with local products. The room was very spacious, clean, the bed was very big and comfortable. The bathroom was also very nice and in a local style.

Pros: Cozy and tidy hostal surrounded by a beautiful landscape, the hosts are easy going but caring and they clearly put a lot of effort in the renovation process, delicious breakfast, absolutely reccommended!

Pros: Beautiful place in the middle of the mountains, perfect to recharge batteries.

Very pleasant stay

Pros: It was a very pleasant stay here. The room and bathroom were very clean and well prepared, The hosts were very friendly and the dinner they provided was amazing. Waiting for dinner in the lounge next to a fireplace with the aperitif offered by the host was a big bonus, it was a very ideal winter trip as I could imagine.

Cons: The taps in the bathroom were the classic french taps, with hot/cold water in different tap, one super hot and one super cold, but I always try to avoid use the sink in hotels when I am travelling.

Pros: very nice staff the food was great the room was cosy and warm the view was magnific

One of the few hotels where you sincerely wish to stay a bit longer.

Pros: The hosts and the atmosphere of the hotel were simply superb. The hotel itself is full of charm and you can tell that the owners poured a lot of love into that place. The hosts were extremely helpful, welcoming and warm people. A uniquely positive experience.
