Maison Merci - Maison d'hôtes

Place was central & good value for money. Arrangements for keys etc were clear & easy to follow.

Pros: Location was excellent, central to town centre & 20 minute walk to old town & castle. 5 minute walk from train station & from airport shuttle bus. Plenty of shops & eateries around.

Cons: Room we stayed in was quite compact & didn’t have an exterior window plus nowhere to sit except on the bed. To be fair though we didn’t spend much time indoors & there is a spacious reception room downstairs with large table & benches.

Would recommend

Pros: Really good communication prior and through arrival, helpful, lovely attic room. Handy for everything in carcassonne. Able to leave our bags after checkout.

Cons: No complaints at all

Pros: Location, near the train station and walking distance to the castle. Easy check in

Cons: No amenities, 1toilet paper for 3 nights

Pros: Excellent communication via text and property easy to locate and access. Close to the center and station. Rooms decorated simply and modern but with traditional features. The bonus of a communal kitchen space with cooker,fridge, microwave and dishwasher is such a great idea if you want to eat in and there is a dining area with large table for you to use. Very clean and quiet.

Cons: Unfortunately there was a rather strong damp smell coming from the drains in the bathroom but it didn't spoil our stay.

Great room for a short stay

Pros: It was well located and clean and comfortable. The communication was excellent and we could leave our bags pre check in and post check out.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Location was great, only a few minutes on foot to the main shopping and dining areas of Carcassonne, and 25 min to the medieval city. We were on the top floor, and there's no lift but it didn't bother us at all. The room was spacious and comfortable, clean too. Same situation with the updated bathroom, the shower was surprisingly good too. Appreciated the air conditioning and the communal kitchen facilities. Fantastic for the price - highly recommend and would stay again.

Cons: Just personal preference for larger towels but other than that no complaints.

Excellent budget choice

Pros: Excellent budget accommodation, very nice bathroom with great shower. Good location. Easy instructions re access. Comfortable bed and linen.

Cons: 2 coffee pods each person for 2 nights stay would be nice ( but appreciated the gesture of 1 anyway). Also a spare toilet roll.

The sum of many enjoyable unique parts.

Pros: Great location close to all the delights that Carcassonne offers…and a few hundred steps to the main transport hub. Smartly layered out and offers a genuine comfortable alternative to the usual mainstream accommodation options.

Pros: Lovely property, central. 5 minutes to train station/airport shuttle bus 3 minutes to central square 10-15 minutes to medieval city Easy access, good communication We didn’t use the kitchen at all so can’t comment on that. We had issues with the aircon but they were very quick to answer messages and resolve it

Cons: Only 2 bath towels supplied, there should be 2 face towels for hygiene purposes Toiletries should have a small shampoo as some guests arrive late at night

Pros: Nice large room in an older rustic building in a quieter part of town, but also only a minute or two walk from the restaurants, shops, and busier town square. Nice features (fireplace) and furniture in the room. Comfy bed, quiet air conditioner Clean well equipped communal kitchenette with fridge/hob etc. Large communal area with dining table if required Would happily stay again if I was in the area

Cons: The plumbing runs internally so in my room (Merci) on the first floor you did hear when rooms above flushed the toilet etc Being requested to leave a 10/10 review after my stay !! For me it was a clear 8/10, very good, but nothing exceptional/outstanding to warrant a 10.
