Carcassonne Bed and Breakfast du Palais

Like staying in a real life palace, thank you for the best weekend!

Pros: The whole property is absolutely gorgeous with the most beautiful and carefully thought out decor! Elaine and her wonderful staff are the best, very kind and helpful. The food and service is phenomenal. Great location, super close to the town centre and train station as well as a quick walk to the ancient town.

Perfect Carcassonne Stay!

Pros: Absolutely incredibly stay! We can't wait to come back one day and spend more than one night in this stunning, beautifully kept city house. The rooms are immaculate and detailed while not being kitschy, the breakfast was perfect and the host was incredibly kind! 100% recommend :)

Fantastic oasis in Carcassonne - loved our stay here.

Pros: It was beautiful and a great base for exploring Carcassonne. Elaine and Jess were great hosts and the breakfasts were lovely. Stayed in the Red Room in a four poster bed - it was really comfortable. Garden is amazing and it felt really peaceful. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is in the area as we had a fantastic time and it made our holiday.

Cons: Everything was great for us - more of a watch out in case you do not look at the photos carefully - there are a lot of stairs, which we were aware of when we booked, but if you are not too mobile it could be a problem. There are rooms on two levels though, so maybe just go up one if you think it could be a problem.

A Hidden Gem

Pros: Fantastic welcome from Elaine, beautiful house and central location - you wouldn't know it was there until you opened the gate! Breakfast options were great for vegetarians, and both Elaine and Jess were so helpful with our queries. We didn't use the pool but the numerous seating areas both indoors and outdoors really did make it feel like a home from home.

Cons: The only thing I'd say is that the room was quite warm, even in October, but the room did have doors opening onto a juliette balcony which was great for air flow.

Impeccably beautiful property with a savoir faire host

Pros: The most important part often missed in a B and B is the people. Elaine was effervescent, insightful and truly enjoys having guests in her place. Wilfred displayed delightful charm whilst serving. The breakfast was sumptuous and the property had an understated elegance.

Fabulous stay in this wonderful B&B in Carcassonne.

Pros: Everything was perfect. Elaine was so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for her. The breakfast was amazing and the property itself had a lovely warm, homely feel to it. Our room was fabulous, lovely decor and a great view over the swimming pool.

Cons: It wasn't warm enough to use the pool unfortunately as we were there in October. We would love to go back another time.

Pros: Everything! Elaine and staff where very attentive, provided everything you would need for a short stay from advice on resteraunts and places to visit to keeping you topped up with drinks at breakfast. The breakfasts where lovely plenty of choice, the rooms where stunning and very comfortable. Very quiet location but still close to new town and medieval city

Cons: Nothing, it was excellent in every way
