Maison Rives - Village du Livre de Montolieu

Old French city experience, nice, calm and ful of book stores

Pros: Very chic in an old fashion way. This small city has a unique vibe. The rooms were nice, ful of old details. Very comfortable beds. This stay feels like going back in time. In a hotel and in a city as well. We stayed one night travelling through France and enjoyed it, since this was the experience we were looking for. The hosts are really nice and easy going.

Cons: It was a really hot day, air condition would have been nice. The restaurants in the city stop serving food at 9 p.m.

Beautiful, old-fashioned cosy B&B - good value

Pros: Very charming little B&B at the top of the village. The rooms are as beautiful as in the photos, comfortable beds and tastefully decorated. Towels are provided and you can help yourself to tea and coffee in the hallway. Good value for money - we would definitely come back here.

Cons: There wasn't any soap provided, and the overhead part of the shower didn't seem to work (there was a smaller showerhead that did, though). We were only given half a roll of toilet paper. We booked the room without breakfast, thinking that we could always add it on when we arrived and pay extra for it, but you can't! There's no permanent staff/reception/anyone actually living in the B&B, I think people come in to provide breakfast, so if you don't book it with the room for some reason it seems they can't add it on. (We were unlucky because the sole bakery in the village was closed because of a technical problem so we had nowhere to get breakfast).

Fantastic B&B in a magical book village

Pros: The host was fantastic and super friendly and this B&B is charming. It’s an old house that has been restructured so do not expect AC or modern facilities. But is has character to sell and I adored it. Great breakfast too!

Cons: Just be careful of check-in times and check with the host on key pick up times.

Pros: Incredibly relaxing stay at the lovely Maison Rives. Great location with lots of free parking nearby. Beautiful high ceilings and a lovely atmosphere. Comes complete with a cat that plays fetch with corks!

Pros: Tous! La chambre spacieuse, propre ,la salle en bas hyper conviviale, la gentillesse et la grande disponibilité de l'hôte !

Cons: Rien tout était parfait!

Pros: Le tous et nous recommandons. Et nous pensons revenir.

Pros: Su encanto, tanto externo como interno, a pesar de que no anuncie con antelación que desayunariamos, Olivier nos sirvió y fue un desayuno muy completo.

Cons: Las camas pequeñas, por decir algo.

Pros: Das Maison Rives ist einfach bezaubernd! Sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, individuell, gemütlich, eine herrliche Aussicht, die Lage hervorragend um den hübschen Ort zu erkunden oder spazieren zu gehen. Die frische Luft am Fluss ist einzigartig, das Haus charmant und der Gastgeber sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und fürsorglich. Wir haben uns mehr als wohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Cons: Mettre un peu d'huile sur les charnières des volets... :>)

Pros: Excellent location and very clean with a good bathroom and shower. Great view from my room and big windows that allow fresh air in. Feels like a safe environment.

Cons: Must wait for owner who comes within 30/40 minutes after you call, it's not perfect but what bites is he's showing all the impatience and frustration of having to meet a tourist. It really gives a bad feeling to start a vacation with (maybe he just had one bad day). Beds flat, bedding quite worn, but clean, I think.
