Wonderful chateau with lovely calm terrace

Pros: Beautiful chateau with a calm and lovely terrace. We stayed in the apt with two bedrooms which also included two bathrooms, very comfortable. Lovely area, we would love to come back.

Pros: Great hosts and apartment in close proximity to all the sites of the area.

Wonderful hosts and apartment

Pros: Ground floor apartment next to pool so easy access. Great bathrooms/showers. The host and his wife were very informative and friendly, gave excellent recommendations on places to eat/visit.

Cons: The glass in the door was broken and the door didn’t lock very well. Needs repair. The pool needed to be cleaned as slightly grubby on the bottom either no implements to remove leaves or insects. It was end of the season though so very quiet.

Top quality apartment beautifully restored - you really are staying in a chateau!

Pros: Lovely, quiet location in pretty village with cafe and epicerie. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds with quality pillows. Excellent guide to the local area and restaurants.

Pros: Many thanks to Conny and Rene for their warm hospitality at the Chateau Marcel. Our apartment, in an interesting historic building, was very comfortable and in perfect order with everything you could need for an extended stay. I am happy to recommend Chateau Marcel as an excellent base for exploring the Minervois.

Pros: From the moment we arrived at Chateau Marcel we felt at home . This beautiful Chateau has been tastefully and lovingly restored by its present owners. They have managed to seamlessly combine modern luxury with original features . Rene greeted us and gave us a wonderful tour. This included the shared area with laundry facilities , coffee and Rose wine bottled ( but not produced) at the chateau and the wonderful hallway leading to a secluded, sheltered Terrace. We were in the accommodation called Syrah , which used to be the home of the blacksmith . This faces the pool with a beautiful outlook. This is truly a shining gem nestled in beautiful countryside side. We felt cosseted and nurtured throughout our entire stay. We will return at every opportunity. A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts for making our visit so special and sharing their wonderful home with us. We will return at every opportunity.

Cons: The only thing we didn’t like was that we had to leave !

Pros: Everything! Rene and Conny were wonderful hosts and have created a relaxing environment in a beautiful old chateau in the town on Cesseras. Sensitively restored, with a combination of modern conveniences and original features. Rene has that gift of always appearing when we needed something, never to be seen when we didn't! He also gave great suggestions on local villages, restaurants, walking trails and attractions. We visited many of the local attractions - particularly loved the walks around Minerve and the gorge. Cesseras is a wonderful little village and Chateau Marcel is the perfect base for exploring the region.

Highly recommended

Pros: The beautiful spacious apartment. The charming chateau. The quiet surroundings. The fact that you can easily visit the beach and the mountains from the accommodation. Last but certainly not least that the hosts will do anything to make your holiday feel like a true holiday. Thanks again for that!
