Carcassonne Epicerie

Pros: Our stay at Carcassone Epicerie was absolutely perfect! Rachael and Mark were phenomenal hosts who went above and beyond to help us during our stay. The property location is a short walk into the town and close to some fantastic restaurants. We found easy parking each day. The interiors were stunning - well maintained, clean, and generally beautiful! And the outside area was charming! Thank you so much Rachael and Mark! Will be recommending both the Epicerie and the Townhouse to friends and family!

A well-located, homely stay in Carcassonne

Pros: It was spacious, nicely decorated, had everything we needed to cook, and was within walking distance of the bastide, cité and train station. It's a really homely, relaxing space allowing us to spend a nice mixture of time eating in as well as out. We really liked making use of the outdoor dining and cooking space. The beds were also really comfortable! The milk, butter, jam etc was a really nice touch, and Rachael was helpful in the lead up to our stay. Thank you!

Cons: The seating outside isn't particularly comfortable and I'd have liked to have spent a bit more time relaxing and reading out there. The carpet is made out of something like rattan (I imagine because it's hard-wearing and does also suit the decor) so is very rough under the feet and leaves a funny smell throughout the house. This was fine for us but I'm mentioning in case anyone has any particular sensory difficulties/needs! It's also worth mentioning that there was a house nearby that played very loud music until the early hours on our first and third nights (a Thursday and Saturday). It could have just been guests staying at another Airbnb. There was a bit of a noise disturbance to the front of the house - a couple arguing and scooters going past quite late. Aside from this - we slept well as the area is generally quiet!

Perfect base to explore Carcassonne and beyond.

Pros: Beautifully presented and well equipped. Everything we needed and nothing forgotten. The property is very close to the shops and restaurants of the bastide and a short walk to the medieval city. Rachael was extremely helpful and responsive to our queries before and during our stay.

Cons: Parking was sometimes tricky due to the narrow streets and proximity to town but we always found something.

Pros: Quiet and relaxing, 5 min walk down to the canal. 12 to 15 min walk to train station. Outdoor terrace is lovely.

A remarkable property in the heart of Carcassonne

Pros: Such a gem of a place, walking distance to the city centre. Rachael and Mark go out of their way to welcome their guests with superb communication and a lovely welcome pack. What we loved were the excellent facilities, a more than comfortable home-from-home. The three days we spent here were absolutely the highlight of our 2 week road trip in France! Thank you Rachael and Mark.

A very nice time in a lovely house

Pros: It is a lovely house decorated with lots of taste and very comfortable. We spent five nights there in winter and enjoyed our time both in the house and in Carcassonne. Rachael is very kind and reacted very quickly to all our messages. I highly recommend the place.

Pros: We were given the keycode prior to arrival and had no problems at all in accessing the property. We loved the gite. It was extremely clean and fantastic value for money. Very close to the town and not far to walk to the castle. The owners were very helpful in advising of good restaurants although we didnt actually meet. Copuld not have been happier although would have loved to make use of the outside facilities but weather didnt permit this. Loved the decor and the rooms were lovely.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Fantastic clean and gorgeous property with good facilities, and helpful hosts with lots of recommendations if needed!

Really, really enjoyed our stay. Best self catering we've had in years. Would happily return.

Pros: Mark & Rachael were very helpful and very easy to talk to. Couldn't be more helpful. The house is perfectly located for both city centres( 10 to 15 minutes walk ) The accommodation was very well equipped and some basic food essentials were already there when we arrived. Very helpful. Other self catering accommodations could learn a lot from Mark & Rachael.

Cons: The on street Parking was challenging some days and my car got bashed.

Fabulous house, great hosts, plenty of good food and wine, we loved everything about Carcassonne.

Pros: The house was really tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The location is great, very close to the Bastide area and about a 20 minute walk from the walled city. Rachael and Marc were exceptional hosts, very friendly and knowledgeable.

Cons: Nothing!
