A magical stay in a hidden gem — peaceful, beautiful, and hard to leave.

Pros: I absolutely loved Château de Paulignan! I’ve stayed here two years in a row and already can’t wait to come back. It’s a peaceful, beautifully place in the heart of a stunning wine region — a real hidden gem. The rooms are full of character, decorated with beautiful antique furniture, and the whole château has a rich, fascinating history. The pool is amazing, the breakfast is delicious, and the host is incredibly warm and welcoming. A perfect spot to disconnect and soak up the charm of France.

Cons: My only complaint? I couldn’t stay longer.

Sirius Black's summer holiday home

Pros: What fun! The Du Lac family were one of the original wizarding families in this part of France, with Isabel Du Lac being one of the founders of Beauxbatons in 1264. Over time they became connected through several marriages to the Black family in England. Sirius often spent his summer holidays here. We were greeted by the family house elf, with a large black dog gambolling behind her (really!).. On the way to our room, the Du Lac + Black family tree was painted on the wall. The Grey Lady was spending her summer here too, wearing a straw hat. Despite its superficial resemblance to Malfoy Manor, it's now a friendly welcoming and comfortable place.

Cons: Fortunately the moon was not full while we were there.

Pros: L’emplacement idyllique, la qualité de l’accueil par Françoise et son mari, le lieu chargé d’histoire, les rencontres avec les autres locataires, la piscine incroyable.

Wat een geweldige ervaring

Pros: Je moet je even aanpassen aan de tijd van toen, maar dan ervaar je een prachtig kasteel met mooi ingerichte kamers en een prima badkamer. Het petit dejeuner is van restaurant kwaliteit en prima betaalbaar. De eigenares ontvangt je als een vorst en het prachtige zwembad nodigt je meteen uit voor een frisse duik. Een top beleving in de Minervois.
