Le Donjon de Lily - Cœur de La Cité Médiévale

Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our single-night stay at this apartment near the Place du Grand Puits in Carcassonne. It served as the ideal base for our brief visit before heading north. ​The location is absolutely fantastic—situated right in the heart of the charming Bastide Saint-Louis, allowing for easy access to restaurants and the main sights. The apartment itself felt cozy and welcoming. We particularly appreciated how quiet it was despite being so central, allowing for a great night's sleep.

Wow!

Pros: Wow - what an amazing old property. So tastefully modernised and well appointed. The stone spiral staircase up to the apartment was fantastic! It felt like an authentic medieval experience perfect for the incredible city of Carcassonne. The apartment had a wonderful terrace that enjoyed the afternoon sun and views across the walled city. 10/10 location within the walled city. Host was extremely helpful with parking instructions and directions.

Pros: At location a layout. Patio was lovely to sit out on. Good facilities inside. Decor and furnishings very nice.

Pros: Brilliant location, and exceptionally clean and stylish apartment. And soooooo cool to walk back inside after the intense heat of Carcassonne old city... The air con was so welcome! Fantastic private terrace from which to listen to the sounds of the bustling old town below, and appreciate the gorgeous smells of the local restaurants. And nice to take coffee out there in the early morning, and watch the birds and the city wake up. Be aware that this property is in the heart of the old town, so you will be given directions on where to park your car, and how to access the property. But there will inevitably be a walk involved with your case/bag and any provisions. So in the heat of the midday sun, it is quite a challenge - the streets get very busy with people. But I assure you, this place is worth the journey! It's a gorgeous oasis. Highly recommend.

Location couldn't be any better really. The property was perfect for our needs. Highly recommended!

Pros: Just the right size for two people with a great balcony view to the northern ramparts and hills beyond. Has air-conditioning in the main kitchen/lounge area and also in the bedroom - a life-saver as it would otherwise have been very hot. Exceptionally well located to explore the walled city, with good restaurants very close.

Cons: Could do with a few wine glasses and an extra ice tray (so folks can sit on the balcony and drink cooled Rose from proper wine glasses before going out to dinner). We made do with glass tumblers so not a real issue, just a suggestion to make it even better. The only other downside was the lack of a small supermarket close by (unless we missed it). We ended up carrying wine and snacks all the way from the main town back to the apartment. There are tourists shops selling expensive wine and artisan foods at high prices but nowhere we found to buy a 5 euro bottle of wine. The kitchen has a double electric hob but is only basically equipped for self-catering - we ate out every night so not a problem for us.

Pros: Accommodation was clean with excellent facilities. The lovely terrace was very private and despite being in the heart of the cite it was very quiet at night.

Air conditioned room in the heart of the medieval town.

Pros: Location was perfect. Arriving to an air conditioned room was amazing. Also loved the decor.

Cons: Honestly there wasn’t much to complain about.

Wonderful stay

Pros: The location is perfect! Right in the middle of the old city. It’s very beautifully decorated ! There is everything you need and the terrace is really lovely !
