Great place with a history - would love to come back

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which has truly unique roots and a special character you can feel right away. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel at home from the very first moment. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept great. We also really appreciated that we could stay here with our dog, which made the trip even more special. A lovely place we would happily return to, maybe this time in summer.

Cons: No real issues to share. Great place overall.

Stunning view, great atmosphere, and a lovely surprise to discover its Cathar history.

Pros: I really enjoyed the ancient history of the place. Everything is very well maintained, the view is stunning, and the atmosphere is perfect. We weren’t initially aware of the connection to Cathar history, which was a lovely surprise.

Cons: The only thing I would say, and this is a very personal opinion, is that I would have fewer paintings on the walls in the room. But this is quite minor compared to the overall graciousness of the place.

Just perfect

Pros: A beautiful property in a stunning location. So clean and you can see that so much care and attention has gone into every inch of the house. Air conditioning throughout and the kids absolutely loved the swimming pool. I cannot wait to return

Cons: Limited parking but only a short walk if you can’t find a space

Understated little gem.

Pros: The bedroom was spacious with a large ensuite. The room was spotless, air-conditioned and had a very comfortable large bed with lovely embroidered cotton sheets. The breakfast was exceptionally good with fruits, juice, yoghurt, muesli, freshly made pancakes and a wide selection of homemade jams. The location was delightful with a lovely terrace. Would highly recommend.

Cons: Parking slightly tricky but not really a problem.

Stunning Restored House in An Ancient Hamlet: A Hidden Gem

Pros: Stunning Converted House in An Ancient Hamlet - beautifully restored and decorated in very traditional style with quirky touches. Proprietor, Madame Carreaud on site and available at all times and was very attentive to any possible needs. Beautiful home made breakfast. Honesty bar. The private pool area is lovely and surrounded by Jasmine hedges.

Great place to stay if you have a car!

Pros: The service by Helene was amazing. We returned here after 13 years as we loved it so much. It was very handy to the places we wanted to visit and very relaxing when we wanted to stay home. The pool was an added bonus and we loved sitting on the terrace. The breakfast was generous and delicious.

Au calme, au coeur d'un vieux village, avec vue sur la campagne

Pros: Si l'accueil a été un peu froid car nous étions presque en retard (quelques minutes avant 19H00), tout s'est fort bien passé ensuite car nous avons eu le temps d'échanger lors des petits-déjeuners (fort bons) en toute convivialité et bienveillance. La chambre que nous avions était top, cosy à souhait. Si l'on rajoute la terrasse (dont nous n'avons pas profité à cause du mauvais temps), cette chambre d'hôte est vraiment à conseiller.

Un genuino enclave cátaro desde el que explorar el Aude

Pros: El sitio tiene mucho encanto, nada impostado. Un vestigio de la historia (cruzada albigense incluida) del que os contará más la anfitriona, que además se defiende en un inglés mucho más aceptable que el nuestro (y eso en Francia ya sabéis que no es lo habitual). Vamos, que si lo que queréis es olvidaros de lo obvio (esa Carcassonne tan omnipresente como masificada) os recomiendo que os dejéis aconsejar por este encanto de mujer, que nos recomendó castillos, abadías y rincones bien distintos a los que teníamos previsto visitar. La zona os sorprenderá (empezando por Lagrasse y acabando en Villerouge-Termenes) y la noche os reserva silencio, recogimiento y estrellas (y si estáis desvelados preparados para zappear: ¡más de 1000 canales internacionales!). ¡Ah, y qué desayuno! Dedicación y mucho, mucho amor por los detalles.

Wer Ruhe sucht, ist hier genau richtig.

Pros: Die Eigentümerin war nett und freundlich. Ihr Hotel liegt ruhig und bot uns einen hervorranden Blick in die Berge. Zur Abkühlung konnten wir rund um die Uhr einen Pool nutzen.

Dormir en la cima de la colina en un castillo

Pros: Increíble vista desde lo que supo ser un castillo. La habitación es comodísima (viajar ligeros por si les toca como a nosotros las habitación del 2do piso). La anfitriona nos explicó todo y ayudó con acomodarnos. Pone a disposición bebidas y comodidades (de pago) dado que no hay disponibilidad de supermercados (la anfitriona nos avisó de ésto en cada contacto para que hicieramos reserva en el pueblo a 5m de Lagrasse). El desayuno es copioso, variado y exquisito. Incluso la anfitriona nos hizo panqueques en el momento. Increíble el servicio de desayuno. Sin dudas, sirve para descansar y despejarse por completo.

Cons: Como todo pueblo medieval tiene sus complicaciones llegar y estacionar.
